The Maltese Islands are inhabited by some 410 000 people but horseriding isn’t one of the biggest sports even though there are plenty of horses in Malta used for other purposes.
We who do horseriding in the form of dressage and show jumping have formed several clubs and 4 of the clubs are large enough, and have the facilities to be able to arrange competitions.
The clubs are:
Cross Riding Club – CRC reaches across the island, with members from Maghtab down to Xghajra and even in Gozo! Most events arranged by CRC are held at Tal-Maghtab Equestrian Arena.

Monte Kristo Equestrian Club – based at Monte Kristo Equestrian Centre has more members than any other Maltese riding club. With more than 50 horses and ponies at MK stables, there is are many activities for members to arrange and/or be invited to.

Maghtab Riding Club – The club doesn’t have it’s own grounds but is one of the main events organizers, working closely with the other equestrian clubs in Malta. MRC’s competitions are held where the ground is best suited for the event.
Pegasus Riding Club – Pegasus is a riding club without its own grounds but cooperates with the other clubs and holds its events in various locations. Pegasus arranges several competitions in cooperation with the MRC.
Sunflower Pony Club – using the Sunflower Equestrian Centre as their home grounds, Sunflower Pony Club has one field available for competitions and two for schooling and are also well equipped with jumps.
Sunflower Pony Club offers pony rides both in a carriage and horseback riding. Therapeutic riding is also available.
